UTICA – The Great American Irish Festival’s strongest lineup in years just got better.
In a year that already boasts a star-studded entertainment lineup, the Great American Irish Festival recently added the Andy Cooney Band for a special Sunday set of Irish classics.
With his outstanding voice and dynamic stage presence, Andy Cooney has always been a favorite among American and Irish audiences everywhere. His talent and versatility provide the ability to deliver a song directly to the hearts of his audience. Christened “Irish America’s Favorite Son” by The New York Times, it is a title he truly deserves. From his sold-out performances at New York’s Carnegie Hall to performing in big and small cities across America, his is a household name in every Irish American home.
Andy holds a certain distinction among the 131 acts who have graced the stages of the annual festival, being one of the headliners of GAIF’s inaugural event in 2004. This appearance marks his fourth time as a GAIF headliner, where he and his band will kick off the festivities on Sunday – designated “Family Day” — immediately after the Irish Mass. He will also be providing singing and musical accompaniment for the Mass.
The Great American Irish Festival runs from July 26-28, 2019, at the Herkimer County Fairgrounds.
