All the world’s a stage…but sometimes one stage is not enough.
The Great American Irish Festival has long been recognized for bringing in the biggest and best musical acts, and for celebrating the variety of their diverse musical styles. Are you mostly interested in hearing traditional Irish/Celtic instruments and selections? We’ve got a stage for you. Are you more into up-tempo, up-volume, cutting edge performances? We’ve got a stage for you too. Maybe you want to check out regional groups or enjoy a more intimate pub-style setting? Guess what: we’ve got stages for you as well.
Our pavilion has hosted some of the greatest names in traditional Irish music history: Tommy Makem, The High Kings, Solas, Cathie Ryan, Runa and Cherish the Ladies, to name a few. This year, the tradition continues, with sets from the Eileen Ivers Band, FullSet, the Colin Farrell Band, Next Generation Leahy and many others.
Only a tent as big as our Contemporary Stage could house the great high energy acts that have graced the stage over the years, and the appreciative – even rabid — fans who regularly pack the tent. This year will not disappoint, with performances from Enter the Haggis, the Glengarry Bhoys, BarleyJuice and the Screaming Orphans, to name just a few.
The “Bonnie Ehre” Regional Stage
Named after the “grand lady of the festival,” the Bonnie Ehre stage regularly features local and not-so-local regional acts in a cozy setting inside the Merchandise Vendor building. Get some retail therapy and then grab a seat to hear music from Donal O’Shaughnessy, Seamus Kennedy, Triskele, Rattlin’ Bog and more.
Cultural Building Stage
With a packed schedule of events from musical performances and lectures to music and dance workshops, the Cultural Building stage offers a pub-style laid back setting, perfect for launching you on your imaginary trip to Ireland.
